HEG President Sarah-Chanderia Moderates at Nobel Peace Center
The Nobel Peace Center, as part of its Music Freedom Day, featured a panel called Music is a Human Right. HEG President Sarah-Chanderia was honored to be asked to moderate the panel, which featured the legendary Kris Kristofferson, Chiwoniso (Zimbabwe), Ferhat Tunc (Turkey) and Mari Boine (Norway), and Ole Reitov, from the independent international organization Freemuse, which advocates freedom of expression for musicians and composers worldwide.
HEG President Lectures at Music Management Bachelor Program
Sarah-Chanderia returned to the Høgskolen i Hedmark to present lectures on Songwriting, Music Publishing, Publishing Contracts and International Markets to students of the schools Music Management bachelor degree program. HEG President Participates in GramArt Events
GramArt, the Norwegian artists association presented several events, including a panel on 360 Deals comprised of Richard Baskind, Jan Erik Haglund, Chris Herbert, Kai Robøle, Harald Sommerstad, Vegard Strømsodd, Dagfinn Sætra and moderated by HEG President Sarah-Chanderia. Ms. Chanderia also wrote a lecture on synchronization licensing and presented her music publishing lecture in the Norwegian cities of Tromsø, Trondheim, Kristiansand and Stavanger.
February 2008 saw by:Larm, the Norwegian music conference, take place in Oslo. The event featured two workshops by HEG President Sarah-Chanderia: How to Work by:Larm and Music Publishing. These workshops were organized by GramArt, the Norwegian artist association.

HEG President Sarah-Chanderia was invited to speak and judge a song contest at the Atlantic Music Event, which took place in April, 2007 in Torshavn, the Faroe Islands. AME featured artists from all over Scandinavia (including HEG’s Grand Island ), as well as wonderful Faroese artists such as new HEG signings SIC and Budam.
Norway ‘s premiere media school Westerdals featured a lecture by HEG President Sarah-Chanderia on the Basics of Music Licensing. Many of the country’s most promising young filmmakers attend Westerdals, and are now turning to HEG for their music clearance needs.
Sarah-Chanderia was honored to present her popular Marketing and Networking seminar for members of Gramart, the Norwegian artists’ organization, in September.

GramArt and Sarah-Chanderia Team Up for Lectures, DVD
Norwegian artists’ association GramArt teamed up with HEG President Sarah-Chanderia to bring information to Norway ‘s artist community. The autumn brought two lectures; one on International Markets and the other on Music Publishing. And the successful lecture How to Market Yourself is getting a new life as a DVD. Available just in time for by:Larm 2007, the DVD features Sarah-Chanderia (who also conceived and wrote the original workshop) outlining the dos and don’ts of music marketing.
Liverpool Welcomes HEG!
Liverpool Music Week (LMW) invited HEG President Sarah-Chanderia to the U.K. in November to take part in two seminars: Promo Package Surgery and We Love You: Now Change! In addition, Ms. Chanderia teamed up with GramArt’s amazing Hilde Wahl in presenting the organization to Norwegian artists living in the area. Special thanks go out to Kaya Herstad.

NOPA, the Norwegian songwriter’s organization, invited HEG President Sarah-Chanderia to address its membership at a conference in Havna , Norway last January. The lecture, entitled Know Your Rights! outlined the basics of music publishing.
HEG President Lectures at Music Management Bachelor Program
The Bachelor Degree program in Music Management at Norway ‘s Høgskolen i Hedmark saw several lectures by HEG President Sarah-Chanderia. In addition to lectures on Songwriting, Music Publishing Contracts and International Markets for the first batch of students in the program, she also repeated the lectures Music Publishing Basics and Songwriting for an entirely new group of students.
HEG is happy to announce new additions to the HEG family. Cecilie Kobberstad Høiland joined us in the spring and has proven herself of invaluable assistance in A&R and administration she even likes to do taxes, and boy do we love her for it! And Ann Christin Rihm comes to us from the wonderful world of metal to help out with marketing, and brings the fabulous Diva with her. Welcome ladies!

HEG President Lecturing for Bachelor’s in Music Management Degree
HEG President Sarah-Chanderia has been tapped to conduct lectures in the fields of music publishing and songwriting for the new Bachelor’s of Music Management degree program. Organized and conducted by the Høgskolen i Hedmark (approximately the Norwegian equivelent to a state university), the program educates participants on all areas of the music business, and will result in a fresh new crop of qualified managers to meet Norway’s increasing management needs.
GramArt and Sarah-Chanderia Take it on the Road
The highly successful Music Marketing seminar created by HEG President Sarah-Chanderia for GramArt (the Norwegian Artists’ Association) took it to the streets with presentations in key the Norwegian cities of Tromsø, Trondheim and Bergen in May. This was followed-up by an encore presentation of the seminar in Oslo. Future presentations of the seminar are also in the works.
HEG President Moderates for Music Export Norway
Sarah-Chanderia moderated a panel at a seminar presented by Music Export Norway (MEN) and held in during the popular ¯ya Music Festival. Focusing on the process of breaking Norwegian acts internationally, the seminar included Kathryn Frazier from Biz 3 (U.S.) and Igor Mnnink from Eurosonic (Netherlands).

Sarah-Chanderia was invited to participate in the Baltic Music Conference, held in May in Riga, Latvia. The Conference was organized by key members of the Baltic music industry in conjunction with the British Council and featured several International industry leaders.
HEG President Speaks to Norwegian Film Industry
HEG President Sarah-Chanderia was asked by Norsk Film Utvikling (Norwegian Film Development organization) to present a seminar for its members. With the snappy title of “Music Licensing: Why it Costs so Much and Takes So Long,” the seminar explained the process of licensing music for films and advertisements.

The beautiful city by the sea was host to the 2004 by:Larm conference. In addition to doing lots of great showcases and schmoozing, HEG President Sarah-Chanderia moderated a panel entitled Music Publishing for Dummies. Designed to answer every question you ever had on the ins and outs of music publishing, the panel featured Justin Kalifowitz from Spirit Music Group (U.S.), Kenny McGoff from EMI Music Publishing (U.K.) and Ken Ingwersen from BMG Music Publishing (Norway). HEG Address Music for Advertisements at Popkomm
HEG President Sarah-Chanderia moderated a panel on music in advertising at this year’s Popkomm (held 29 October-1 November) in Berlin. The panel discussed the details of getting music to key advertising agencies, and analyzed emerging trends in the advertising world. She was joined by panelists Gemma Dempsey (former head of Film TV and Synch Licensing for Kobalt Publishing, U.K.), Anke Landmark (Head of TV for Scholz & Friends, Berlin) and Philippe de Bruyn (Senior Account Planner, Wieden+Kennedy, Amsterdam). HEG attended Popkomm as part of the Music Export Norway stand, and extends a great big tusen takk to Inger Dirdal and her staff for all their help.
HEG Works with World Music at WOMEX
This year’s WOMEX (held 28-30 October in Essen, Germany) featured a repeat presentation of Sarah-Chanderia’s workshop, We are the World (Promoting and Protecting Your Music Internationally). This comprehensive workshop details the differences between international marketplaces on a region-by-region basis. Special thanks to Christine Semba for her gracious assistance.
HEG President Conducts Educational Seminars
Norway has been the scene for some of HEG’s most recent educational efforts. In September, 2004, Sarah-Chanderia conducted two seminars (Music Publishing Basics and International Music Markets) for NOPA (the Norwegian songwriter’s organization) at a songwriter workshop held at one of Norway’s most beautiful ski resort areas. Thanks go out to Anne Lorentzen and the entire staff at Fausko for a wonderful experience.
HEG And GramArt
November 2004 saw the premier of a new workshop on Marketing and Promotion held in conjunction with GramArt (the Norwegian artists’ association). This comprehensive one-day workshop was primarily compiled and presented by HEG President Sarah-Chanderia, with the excellent help of co-writers and presenters Nina Lauritzen (from Head of Promotion) and Aggie Peterson (lead singer of Frost). A second, shorter evening version of the workshop was also presented, for those artists who do their best thinking at night! The workshops proved to be so popular that additional presentations will be made for GramArt members in a selection of cities around Norway in the spring of 2005. Special thanks to Terje Klausen from GramArt, Aggie, Nina and the staff of John Dee (Oslo) for all your help.
HEG President Sent to Siberia
HEG’s President Sarah-Chanderia was invited on an extraordinary trip to the village of Shushenskoye, located in the province of Krasnoyarsk (directly north of Mongolia, China and – further south – Bangladesh). Starting with a stop-over in Moscow (one of the most exciting cities in the world!), Ms. Chanderia was invited to judge a music competition held at the Sayan Ring Festival. The Sayan Ring is an enormous area of Russia and upper Mongolia surrounded by the Sayan mountains – and the music from that area proved to be unbelievably diverse and exciting.
Held over three days in the July heat of the southern Siberian steppes, the Festival featured no less than 45 artists – ranging from solo virtuoso musicians to ensembles of more than 30 performers; all of whom were dressed in their traditional costumes. This phenomenal festival was the brainchild of Andrei Kataev, owner of the Sayan Ring Travel Agency. He and his associate Nataliya Myazina organized an amazing week filled with music, laughter, cultural activities and LOTS of vodka toasts for Ms. Chanderia and her fellow judges. These included music business professionals from Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic and the U.K., as well as dignitaries and artists (such as legendary Tuvan throat-singer Ondar Kongar-ool) from all over Russia. A very special spasibo goes out to music master extraordinaire Artemy Troitsky for his recommendation and friendship.
And if anyone ever asks you to Siberia, GO!!! You’ll not find a place with warmer hearts.
Sevilla, Spain Hosts WOMEX
The 2003 edition of WOMEX (held 22-26 October) saw the World music community head to the beautiful city of Sevilla, in Andalusia, Spain. With a backdrop like that, it was difficult to focus on business – but the music (which of course included some of the flamenco that the region is famous for) quickly got everyone’s attention.
Sarah-Chanderia, HEG’s President, was asked by the conference organizers to conduct a workshop on international markets. The workshop also discussed ways to promote and protect one’s music in various parts of the world.

Scandinavian music conference by:Larm was held in February in the city of Trondheim – the same city that saw by:Larm begin back in 1999. Focused on bringing new talent to the attention of the music industry, by:Larm is held in one of several different Norwegian cities every year. 2003′s conference included a panel organized by HEG’s President Sarah-Chanderia on the placement of music in films and television shows, and featured Brian Justice (MD of Just Songs – UK), ¯ivind Lind¿e (Virtual Garden advertising agency – Norway), Robert Singerman (Music Supervisor – U.S./France) and Lars Wiggman (MD, Air Chrysalis – Sweden).
HEG Returns to Popkomm
HEG again took a stand at the German music tradeshow Popkomm, held in Kln, Germany this past August. The conference included three days of meetings, showcases and conferences, and – as always – resulted in great business and many new contacts.
To Russia, With Love
Sarah-Chanderia, HEG’s president, was invited to address the Russian music industry in February. Organized as part of the Record 2002 Music Industry Trade Fair, Ms. Chanderia was invited to Moscow to give an educational presentation on the workings of music publishing. The presentation, which was translated into Russian, is available by contacting HEG’s New York or Oslo office. In addition, French artist Muriel Moreno was invited to DJ at the trend-setting Moscow club, Chinese Pilot. This extraordinary opportunity was made possible through the efforts of Russia’s superstar media personality Artemy Troitsky. When asked what she thought of Moscow, Ms. Chanderia said, “Wonderful people, beautiful city, incredible restaurants, a club scene that beats what’s going on New York right now, topped by an abundance of amazingly original music. Moscow rules!”
Back at By:Larm
This year’s By:Larm (the Norwegian music industry conference) was held in the southern Norwegian city of Kristiansand in March. As well as seeing an amazing amount of wonderful music, By:Larm also creates a perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and to do business at the same time. This year’s conference also featured HEG president Sarah-Chanderia co-moderating a panel on music publishing basics with members of the Norwegian Music Publisher’s Association.
HEG Artist Gets the Royal Treatment at MIDEM 2002
HEG had a wonderful MIDEM. January saw the company back on the French Rivera for MIDEM 2002, with its artist Bigbang playing at the opening night party. The night’s events were organized by the trade organization Music Export Norway, which also invited HRH Crown Prince Haakon to attend. HEG was especially delighted to see Bigbang’s ¯ystein Greni sharing the stage with the Crown Prince at a press party for the world’s media. But that was only the beginning, as the rest of MIDEM was filled with the usual meetings, schmoozing and general insanity!
HEG President Speaks at SXSW
SXSW 2002 invited HEG president Sarah-Chanderia to participate in a special panel presentation entitled “Publishers’ Role in Creating Income Streams.” Moderated by Michael Badami (DreamWorks Music Publishing), the panel also featured Greg Sowders (Warner/Chappell Music) and Jonathan Stone (Windswept). Ms Chanderia was also honored to be asked to be a music publishing mentor at the conference.
Southern Hospitality — Shreveport Style.
HEG president Sarah-Chanderia was invited to speak at the first-ever Southern American Music Conference, which was held in Shreveport, Louisiana in May. Focusing on the extremely fertile music scene that has always existed in this northern Louisiana city, the conference was organized by the Foundation for Arts Music and Entertainment (FAME), and that organization’s energetic Chairperson, Maggie Warwick. The conference also served as a launching ground for the Shreveport Historic Music & Cultural District, which will revitalize the area best known as the birthplace of the legendary Louisiana Hayride Radio Show — the show that gave many of country music’s legends their start. Ms. Chanderia was truly honored to participate on a songwriter/publisher panel that also featured Ms. Warwick and the amazing Merle Kilgore, manager of Hank Williams, Jr. and co-writer of “Ring of Fire” for Johnny Cash.
HEG President Addresses Swedish Music Industry
Sarah-Chanderia, HEG’s president was invited to address the Swedish music industry in November. The presentation was organized by trade organization Export Music Sweden, and included the announcement of the Swedish music industry export figures for the year 2000 and a presentation by Sweden’s Trade Minister. Ms. Chanderia gave a two-hour presentation entitled “Export or Perish!” which detailed differences in international industry standards and copyright law, as well as methods for breaking into various international markets. While in Stockholm, Ms. Chanderia was interviewed by Radio Sweden, for a worldwide English-language program on the music industry.
HEG Goes Dutch
The premier A2A Music Conference (held in October in Amsterdam) featured showcase performances by two of HEG’s artists: Norway’s extraordinary rock band Bigbang, and HEG’s jazz guitarist extraordinaire, Derek Bronston. In addition, HEG president was invited to moderate a panel entitled Successful Women in the Music Business: How They Got There and Stayed There. The panel featured Barbara Biernat (Alpha Management-Netherlands), Mary McFaul (U.S. Booking Agent), and Liza Nilsson-Barthelsen (MNW Label Manager, Sweden). In addition, Ms. Chanderia hosted a Town Hall Meeting as part of the Women in Music Symposium, which fostered a discussion of the current situation of women in the music business.
HEG and Bigbang Go West for NACA
Norwegian stars Bigbang were invited to play a prized opening night showcase at the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Western regional conference in Ogden, Utah. The band kicked the event off by blowing away conference attendees – mostly college booking agents – and impressing local promoters with their exuberant stage performance. HEG president Sarah-Chanderia joined the band in Utah to coordinate the band’s appearance and tradeshow booth on behalf of HEG and Bureau Storm, Bigbang’s Norwegian management company and booking agency.

Round the world in 40 days…
May and June saw HEG’s President Sarah-Chanderia on a whirlwind business trip that included stops in Los Angeles, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Germany, Latvia, Norway and England before returning back to New York. A joint HEG/CMC undertaking, the journey was designed to increase both organizations’ profiles internationally and seek out new music from around the world. Literally. Miles, anyone?

HEG’s President Sarah-Chanderia conducted a comprehensive workshop at By:Larm, the annual Norwegian music industry conference. Held in February in Tromsø, Norway, the workshop was part of a series of events hosted by GramArt, Norway’s artist organization.
HEG President, Artist at CMW
Canadian Music Week saw HEG’s president return to moderate a panel on film and television music licensing. Panelists included Music Supervisors Michael Perlmutter and Ron Proulx, agent Sam Schwartz and L.A. lawyer Steve Winogradsky. Canadian audiences got a special treat when HEG arranged a special showcase by the Norwegian act Bigbang.
Business on the Baltic
June saw HEG’s president Sarah-Chanderia returning to the Forte Riga music conference, held in Riga, Latvia. Geared towards bringing the western music industry together with Eastern European and Russian companies, Forte Riga 2001 invited Ms. Chanderia to chair the Forte Flash band contest and to moderate a panel comparing Indies vs. Majors. Panelists included Martin Goldschmidt (Cooking Vinyl-UK), Joe Govaerts (EMI Eastern Europe), Manfred Lappe (Warner Music Austria) and Andreas Schubert (Koch International Poland). Once in Riga, Ms. Chanderia was also asked to moderate a second panel: Music Publishing Today, which featured John Brands (Brands Music-The Netherlands), Mike Chadwick (Strictly Confidential-UK), Andreas Schubert (Koch International-Poland) and Erik van Tijn (Soundwise-The Netherlands).
SXSW Goes International
The International Music Publishing Marketplace was the topic at a panel moderated by HEG’s president Sarah-Chanderia at this year’s SXSW Music Conference, held in March in Austin, Texas. Additional panelists included Ingemar Bergman of Popwire (Sweden), Mark Jowett of Nettwerk (Canada), Chris Taylor of Sanderson Taylor (Canada) and Christian Ulf-Hansen of BMI (U.K.).
HEG Takes Over AFIM
The Association of Independent Music (AFIM) held it’s annual convention in Los Angeles in May, and HEG’s president was invited to moderate two panels during the event. “Foreign Currency – Making Dollars in the Global Market” featured Chad Darnell (Etherean Music), Doug Lexa (LeFon), Hans-Peter Malten (German Association of Independent Record Companies, Music Publishers and Producers) and Steven Weber (Sirius Star), while “So You Want to Be In Pictures” a panel on music for films and TV featured Kevin Coogan (ASCAP), Suzan Mann (Group MusicWorks), Karen Morrow (freelance music supervisor) and Steve Winogradsky (Winogradsky Group). In addition, HEG organized a packed opening night cocktail party that resulted in hundreds of invitations being issued to L.A.’s independent music community.
HEG Goes Hollywood…
Varda Steinhardt, who runs HEG’s film and television music department, attended the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW Film Festival and the New York Independent Film Festival. She also joined HEG’s president Sarah-Chanderia on two trips to Los Angeles where the fearsome twosome stormed the gates of La La Land.

Sarah-Chanderia was invited to Oslo, Norway to give a series of workshops on the international music industry. The workshops focused on three areas, including the difference between majors vs. independent music publishing companies, protecting your music and promoting your music in the international marketplace. The workshops were organized by GramArt, Norway’s artist organization.
HEG President, Artist Participate at Rockrgrl 2000
The very first Rockrgrl 2000 Music Conference (held in Seattle, Washington) drew a tremendous response with a stellar line-up of speakers including Courtney Love, Ronnie Spector and Amy Ray. HEG’s President participated in the panel, “Your Music is a Business” which also featured Kate Darling from SFX, Carla Hall from Moxie and artist Val Esway. The panel was moderated by Tizzy Asher, from Seattle’s music publication The Rocket. In addition, HEG artist Melissa Reaves performed a showcase at the conference, which was put together by Carla DeSantis, (founder of Rockrgrl Magazine) and long-time HEG friend Louis Jay Meyers, who also founded SXSW and LMNOP. HEG Fights Piracy at Forte Riga
HEG President Sarah-Chanderia was invited to take part in a multi-part forum on fighting piracy in Central and Eastern Europe, held in June at the Forte Riga conference in Riga, Latvia. The forum was divided into four sections, including Internet, Publishing, Customs/Trade and Workshop, with the latter section being designed to produce a set of written recommendations for Eastern European governments, policing agencies and the international press. This was the second Forte Riga conference; an event designed to bridge the Eastern and Western music industries and provide a forum for responsible trade. Participants included the Latvian Ministry of Culture, the U.S. Embassy to Latvia, the Russian Author’s Society, the European Sound Directors Association, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), several Scandinavian, Eastern European and Pan-European music and label organizations and representatives from major and independent labels, publishers and e-tailers. Ms. Chanderia worked with delegates from around the world to compose the following release, reprinted here in its entirety:
“Hello, Cleveland!” — The annual Association for Independent Music (AFIM) conference took place in May in Cleveland, Ohio, and once again HEG’s President gave what has become a regular workshop on music publishing. The event was even more successful this year, and as a result, Sarah has been asked to write a series of regular publishing articles for AFIM’s Indie World magazine. Sarah-Chanderia Speaks Out on Publishing at SXSW — HEG’s President took part in a lively panel entitled “Can Developing Talent Find a Publishing Deal?” which was held at the SXSW Music Conference in Austin, Texas in March. You can imagine what HEG’s response to the question was: a resounding YES! Ms. Chanderia was delighted to appear with fellow panelists Brownlee Ferguson (Bluewater Music-Nashville), Anders Moren (Misty Music-Stockholm), Joshua Neuman (BMG Music Publishing-Beverly Hills) and Michael Smith (EMI Music Publishing-London). The panel was extremely well moderated by San Francisco attorney Tony Berman.
HEG Goes International at Canadian Music Week — HEG President Sarah-Chanderia hosted an international panel at the Canadian Music Week, held 1-5 March in Toronto, Ontario. This panel was designed to educate Canadian labels and artists on ways to break into the international marketplace. Included on the panel were Amy Dresser (MIDEM), Pat Bradley (AFIM), Michael Chugg (PCMExpo), Katerina Pavlakis (WOMEX) and Mary Vrantsidis (CIRPA)
Indies Rule at NEMO – Sarah-Chanderia was invited to participate in an excellent panel at the NEMO Music Conference (held April 15-18 in Boston, Massechuttes). Entitled “Survival in the Indie Market,” the panel was hosted by Disc Makers and moderated by Carolyn Ballen (founder of the Indie Music Forum). In addition, HEG artists Lunar Plexus over-packed the house at THE party-to-be-invited-to, hosted by DMOD.
Skyline Music Magazine Hosts Televised Discussion – Don’t be surprised if you turn your TV to see HEG President Sarah-Chanderia speaking on the dos and don’ts of music publishing deals.
HEG Hosts MICA and ExMS on CMJ Stand — The CMJ (College Music Journal) music conference in New York proved the perfect opportunity to promote HEG and international artists to college radio stations throughout the United States. HEG is honored to have represented both MICA (Music Information Centre Austria) and ExMS (Export Music Sweden) on its stand — the first time that either organization had attended this conference.
HEG President Invited to Address Norwegian Artists — Sarah-Chanderia addressed the issues facing Norwegian artists in the international marketplace at a conference presented by GramArt, the Norwegian artists’ organization.
HEG Hosts First Music Publishing Workshop at AFIM — The Association for Independent Music conference in Atlanta featured a workshop on music publishing which was organized and conducted by HEG President, Sarah-Chanderia. The workshop was taped and is now being shown on educational television throughout the United States.
HEG Takes Over the LMNOP Music Conference– The New Orleans-based conference featured showcases by two HEG artists (Melissa Reaves and Derek Bronston), appearances on three music publishing and international licensing panels by HEG President Sarah-Chanderia and the best HEG party ever in honor of Melissa and Derek.
HEG President Conducts Publishing Workshop at IMF — Sarah-Chanderia hosted the workshop at the sold-out debut IMF (Indie Music Forum) conference in New York City.
CD Release Party for HEG Artists — Derek Bronston and Lauren Stauber were the guests of honor at a party thrown on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
HEG President Named Industry Editor — Sarah-Chanderia was named Music Industry Editor for Performer Publications, a U.S. magazine group. In addition, she wrote several feature articles designed to educate musicians on the workings of the music business. Subjects included Music Conferences, Taxation, Internet Marketing, Synchronization Licensing, Musicians’ Organizations, Fraud in the Music Industry, Indie Record Company Contract Negotiations and Retail Consignment Deals. HEG’s Film and TV Goddess Varda Steinhardt married Danny Fingeroth on 18 June — a VERY special day, indeed! Danny was previously a writer for such well-known comics as Spider Man and has just joined up to write for the new super-heroine, Whirl Girl. Hmmm… have to wonder if Varda’s the inspiration for that last one..(wink!)
Classic Marketing Manager Meets Producer Story… Our Marketing and Royalties Miracle Worker Maria Grazia Cocchiara just thought she was going to last year’s LMNOP Music Conference in New Orleans to work showcase by HEG artists Derek Bronston and Melissa Reaves. Little did she know that she would meet the man of her dreams: Producer Mike Klein. Who, in addition to sharing a last name with our guitar-girl Ann, had previously produced some of Ms. Klein’s songs! We are extremely delighted to announce that Maria and Mike were married on June 24. In keeping with ancient Welsh tradition, the nuptials were performed at Coney Island’s Mermaid Parade, where a swimmingly good time was had by all. The happy couple have taken each other’s last names, and will henceforth be known as Maria and Mike Cocchiara-Klein. (In the background, HEG’s president twists her hands and cackles wickedly, “And thus HEG’s Breeding Program begins!”)
